R. Scott Pietrowski. Mr. Pietrowski offers over two decades of litigation and trial experience. He received his Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees from Barstow College (Summa Cum Laude), and his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Mississippi (Summa Cum Laude). Mr. Pietrowski earned the Taylor Medal upon completion of undergraduate studies, which is the highest academic honor that can be bestowed upon a student and limited to the top one percent of the student body. Mr. Pietrowski received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Mississippi (Cum Laude), obtaining the highest scholastic average in his graduating class. While in law school, Mr. Pietrowski served as Articles Editor for the Journal of National Security Law and participated with the Moot Court Team in competition in Washington, D.C. Mr. Pietrowski is also a graduate of the prestigious National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA).
Mr. Pietrowski's litigation experience is broad, having handled matters in state and federal courts in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Florida. He has practiced in the areas of class actions, consumer financial services litigation, complex lender liability litigation, employment law, wage and hour actions, insurance defense, real property, and judicial foreclosure. Mr. Pietrowski has defended clients before the American Arbitration Association and represented local governments and an international airport authority.
Mr. Pietrowski is a former Municipal Court Judge (Pro Tempore), Hearing Committee Member for the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility and Research Assistant to the Honorable James D. Todd, United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, Eastern Division. Mr. Pietrowski is also a former Claims Counsel for a Fortune 500 Company, focusing on real property title insurance disputes and resolutions and has defended matters on behalf of major national banks and mortgage lenders regarding causes of action arising under TILA, HOEPA, FDCPA, RESPA, RICO and state laws.
Mr. Pietrowski has spoken at numerous seminars and has several reported decisions involving matters related to the Uniform Commercial Code, City Ordinance Violations, Workers' Compensation, and Lender Liability.
Mr. Pietrowski is admitted in all state courts in Tennessee and Mississippi. He is also admitted in the United States District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Tennessee, the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, the Northern District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Pietrowski honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps wherein he held Top Secret Security Clearance due to his sensitive position and was awarded the highly coveted Navy Achievement Medal among other military distinctions.
