How The Role of Guardian Ad Litem Changes Depending On The Type Of Case

This one-hour webinar will focus on when you need a guardian ad litem in domestic law cases vs. when you need a guardian ad litem in probate cases. Presenters will discuss the requirements of each role, offering tips for beginners and best practices.
Faculty Bios:
STACIE ODENEAL is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee College of Law. After law school, Odeneal returned to Lawrence County, where she began a solo practice hoping to focus on issues related to agriculture and rural families. In doing so, she developed a particular zealousness for child advocacy, and expanded her generalized practice to include child welfare law. Odeneal is a child welfare law specialist, as certified by the National Association of Counsel for Children and a Rule 31 Listed Mediator: General Civil, Family, and domestic violence trained. She is a member of the Board of Directors for A Kid's Place Child Advocacy Center, chair of the TBA Juvenile & Children's Law Section Executive Council, member of the Tennessee Supreme Court Improvement Work Group: Juvenile Law, and the Lawrence County B.P.O.E. 2206.
JOHN TOY is managing partner at Parker Toy & Associates in Murfreesboro. He is also a recognized speaker on Elder Law topics. In addition to local speaking engagements to community groups, he has given continuing legal education presentations to other attorneys at the Tennessee Bar Association's Elder Law Forum, the Upper Cumberland Adult Abuse Coalition annual meeting, and the Murfreesboro General Sessions Civil Court Annual Update. He graduated magna cum laude and top of his class from Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg, VA. While there, he served on Senior Staff of the Law Review, publishing his Comment, Restoring the Gatekeeper: How Illustrative Notice Pleading Can Save the American Judicial System. Toy currently serves on the Tennessee Bar Association's Elder Law Section Executive Council.
