Tennessee Criminal Law Legislative Update

The TBA Criminal Justice Section will host a free Tennessee criminal law legislative update detailing new laws and recent changes every practitioner should know. The webinar will include information on DUIs, expungements, the new persistent domestic violence registry, definitions for abortion exceptions and much more. One hour of general CLE credit is available for a $50 processing fee.
Faculty Bio
CHELSEA CURTIS is the Deputy Executive Director of the Tennessee District Public Defenders Conference (TDPDC), where she serves as its liaison to the legislature, Administrative Office of the Courts Integrated Criminal Justice Program Steering Committee, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Human Trafficking Advisory Task Force and the Tennessee Domestic Violence State Coordinating Council. She ensures public defenders across the state are up to date on the latest legislative trends and changes to criminal code. Curtis previously served as an Assistant Public Defender in the 21st Judicial District, primarily in Williamson County Circuit Court, where she received acquittals in two jury trials and a verdict of “not guilty by reason of insanity” in a bench trial acting as first-chair attorney.
