In this post-divorce co-parenting action, the father filed a petition requesting modification of the parties’ permanent parenting plan and a finding of contempt against the mother in the Montgomery County Chancery Court which had entered the parties’ divorce decree. In response to the father’s petition, the mother filed a motion requesting that the trial court find Tennessee to be an inconvenient forum and that the court either dismiss the case or transfer it to Florida. Since entry of the divorce judgment, the mother and the parties’ minor child had resided in Florida.

This appeal involves the termination of a mother?s parental rights to five minor children. Following a bench trial, the trial court found that clear and convincing evidence existed to support the termination of her rights on the statutory ground of the persistence of conditions which led to removal. The court further found that termination was in the best interest of the children. The mother appeals. We affirm.

White Bluff resident Tommy Craig has filed a complaint with the Tennessee Board on Judicial Conduct against Nashville General Sessions Judge Rachel Bell, saying she delayed his case and interrupted his testimony to take a picture with a high school class. The Tennessean reports Bell, whose schedule has previously drawn criticism, denied the claims outlined in Craig’s complaint.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reports A.B. Culvahouse, an attorney originally from East Tennessee, will lead the team tasked with helping Donald Trump choose his vice-presidential running mate. Culvahouse led the vice presidential vetting process in 2008 for Arizona Sen. John McCain. U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) praised the decision to put Culvahouse over the process, describing him as "a good listener" with "unquestioned integrity."

Rutherford County prosecutor Jennings Jones today said that he intends to dismiss charges against elementary school students who were taken to a juvenile detention center for allegedly taking part in off-campus bullying. The arrest, which involved handcuffing several of the children ages 9-12, sparked outrage in the community. Jones gave no reason for dropping the charges, the Associated Press reports

This appeal arises from an accident involving an automobile and a pedestrian that occurred in Anderson County. The pedestrian?s insurer, as subrogee of the pedestrian, filed the instant action, alleging that the defendant driver should be held liable for negligence and negligence per se. Following a bench trial, the trial court assessed liability against the driver and awarded the pedestrian?s insurer $50,000.00 in damages. The driver timely appealed.
