DISABILITY INACTIVE

The Tennessee Supreme Court transferred the law license of Shelby County lawyer J. Lester Crain to disability inactive status on April 18. Crain may not practice law while on inactive status. He may return to the practice of law after reinstatement, which requires a showing of clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed and he is fit to resume the practice of law.

DISABILITY INACTIVE

The Tennessee Supreme Court transferred the law license of Florida lawyer Robert Mark Morgan to disability inactive status on March 20. Morgan may not practice law while on inactive status. He may return to the practice of law after reinstatement, which requires a showing of clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed and he is fit to resume the practice of law.

REINSTATED

Williamson County lawyer Emily Pouzar Jenkins was reinstated to the practice of law effective Feb. 1. Jenkins sought reinstatement after being on inactive status since May 4, 2005. She filed a petition for reinstatement on Feb. 1. The Board of Professional Responsibility found that the petition was satisfactory and recommended that the court reinstate her. The court issued the order on Feb. 8.

Stewart County lawyer Billy Dudley Cobb was placed on disability inactive status by the Tennessee Supreme Court on Jan. 25 for an indefinite period of time. Cobb may not practice law while on inactive status. He may return to the practice of law after reinstatement, which requires a showing of clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed and he is fit to resume the practice of law.

Davidson County lawyer John Lee Kennedy was placed on disability inactive status by the Tennessee Supreme Court on Jan. 25 for an indefinite period of time. Kennedy may not practice law while on inactive status. He may return to the practice of law after reinstatement, which requires a showing of clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed and he is fit to resume the practice of law.

REINSTATED

Hamilton County attorney Katrina Akers Davis was reinstated to the practice of law effective Nov. 28, 2018. The Tennessee Supreme Court noted that Davis had been placed on inactive status in February 1996 but had filed a petition for reinstatement this past November. The Board of Professional Responsibility stated that the petition for reinstatement was satisfactory and met the requirements of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9. The court issued the order on Dec. 7, 2018.

Davidson County lawyer Allyn Rubright Gibson was reinstated to the practice of law effective Nov. 19, 2018. The Tennessee Supreme Court noted that Gibson had been placed on inactive status in October 2013 but had filed a petition for reinstatement this past November. The Board of Professional Responsibility stated that the petition for reinstatement was satisfactory and met the requirements of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9. The court issued the order on Dec. 3, 2018.

DISABILITY INACTIVE

The law license of Davidson County lawyer Carla L. Arevalo was transferred to disability inactive status on Nov. 21, 2018, pursuant to Section 27.4 of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9. Arevalo cannot practice law while on inactive status and may not return to the practice of law until reinstated by showing by clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed and she is fit to resume the practice of law. On Jan. 11, 2018, Arevalo was temporarily suspended by the Tennessee Supreme Court and that suspension remains in place.

DISABILITY INACTIVE

The Tennessee Supreme Court transferred the law license of Coffee County lawyer Harry B. Gilley to disability inactive status on Oct. 26. Gilley may not practice law while on inactive status but may return to the practice of law by showing by clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed and he is fit to resume practicing.

Disability Inactive

By order of the Tennessee Supreme Court entered July 11, the law license of Shelby County lawyer Robert C. Brooks was transferred to disability inactive status pursuant to Section 27.3 of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9. Brooks cannot practice law while on disability inactive status. He may return to the practice of law after reinstatement by the Tennessee Supreme Court upon showing of clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed and he is fit to resume the practice of law.

Reinstated

On June 20, the Supreme Court of Tennessee reinstated Campbell County lawyer Timothy Paul Webb to the practice of law, effective immediately. Webb had been suspended by the Supreme Court of Tennessee for five years on Sept. 26, 2016, with two years active suspension and the remainder on probation with conditions. Webb filed a petition for reinstatement to the practice of law pursuant to Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 30.4.

Reinstated

On May 14, the Supreme Court of Tennessee reinstated Hawkins County lawyer Daniel Graham Boyd to the practice of law. Boyd was suspended on Jan. 10 for a period of 120 days. He filed a petition for reinstatement to the practice of law, and the Board of Professional Responsibility found that the petition was satisfactory.
