DISABILITY INACTIVE

The law license of Shelby County lawyer William C. Gosnell was transferred to disability inactive status on Dec. 23, 2014, after Gosnell notified the Board of Professional Responsibility (BPR) that he suffers from a disability that prevents him from practicing law or defending himself against a disciplinary complaint. The court imposed the inactive status for an indefinite period of time and referred the matter to the BPR for a recommendation on final disposition.

REINSTATED

The Supreme Court of Tennessee on Nov. 13 reinstated the license of Memphis lawyer R. Sadler Bailey. He had been suspended on Aug. 18 for 60 days.

DISABILITY INACTIVE

The law license of Hamilton County lawyer Ronald W. Durby was transferred to disability inactive status on Dec. 5. He may not practice law while on disability inactive status, but may petition the court for reinstatement by showing by clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed and he is fit to resume the practice of law.

REINSTATED

Hawkins County lawyer John Stephen Anderson was reinstated to the practice of law on Oct. 30. He had been suspended on Aug. 13 for failing to respond to the Board of Professional Responsibility regarding a complaint of misconduct.

Knox County lawyer Roger David Hyman was reinstated to the practice of law on Nov. 3. He had been suspended on March 31.

REINSTATED

The Supreme Court of Tennessee reinstated the law license of Spring Hill lawyer James Michael Marshall on Sept. 4. Marshall had been suspended for 60 days after he entered a conditional guilty plea that he violated the Rules of Professional Conduct.

REINSTATED

The Supreme Court of Tennessee reinstated the law license of Shelby County lawyer Elbert Jefferson Jr. on Aug. 28. Jefferson was temporarily suspended on July 14 for failing to respond to the Board of Professional Responsibility regarding a complaint of misconduct.

REINSTATED

Davidson County lawyer Edward T. Kindall was reinstated to the practice of law on July 2. He had been suspended Dec. 26, 2013, for one year, retroactive to May 13, 2013.
Hamilton County lawyer H. Owen Maddux was reinstated to the practice of law on July 18. He had been suspended on Aug. 9, 2013, for nine months.

The law license of Knox County lawyer Arun Rattan was transferred to disability inactive status on May 20. He may not practice law while on disability inactive status, but may return to practice after showing by clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed.

REINSTATED

The Supreme Court of Tennessee reinstated the law license of Nashville lawyer Lee Michael Sprouse on March 10. Sprouse had been temporarily suspended on Feb. 4 for failing to respond to the Board of Professional Responsibility regarding a complaint of misconduct. Sprouse filed a petition to dissolve the temporary suspension and a panel appointed to hear the case recommended that the suspension be dissolved.
