News Type: Correction

An item in Monday's TBA Today quoted Knoxnews.com in referring to Pam Reeves as the "first female federal judge in East Tennessee." Although she is the first female judge on the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Tennessee, she is not the first woman to be a federal judge in the region.

In a Wednesday TBA Today item, the name of Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich was misspelled. She was announcing the opening of her re-election campaign.

A news story in yesterday’s issue of TBA Today incorrectly identified the law school that McMinn County lawyer Stephen Hatchett attended. Hatchett, who is running for district attorney general in the 10th Judicial District, graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law.

Wednesday's TBA Today incorrectly identified the judicial position that Nashville attorney Mark Podis is seeking in the upcoming election. He is running for Davidson County General Sessions Court Judge, Division II, on the Democratic ticket.

An item in Friday's TBA Today had the wrong city for a free CLE being offered Thursday for those who agree to take a pro bono case from Legal Aid of East Tennessee. While the hosting agency is located in Chattanooga, the CLE is being offered in Morristown. Learn more about this and other Celebrate Pro Bono events across the state.

A story in yesterday’s issue of TBA Today about a Nashville conservatorship case was based on an article in The Tennessean ... which was originally published in February. Although it appeared as breaking news yesterday in a news tracking service the TBA follows, nine-month-old news clearly does not meet the TBA's standard of providing current and relevant news to its members.

The joint investiture ceremony for Third Judicial District Circuit Court Judge Mike Faulk and Chancellor Doug Jenkins will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Church Hill Middle School in Church Hill. The ceremony and reception are free and open to the public. Friday’s issue of TBA Today listed the wrong city for the event.

A story in yesterday's TBA Today referred to a merger between two groups, which were identified as law firms. However, neither Mauldin & Jenkins nor Hazlett, Lewis & Bieter are law firms.

News Type: Correction

The Access to Justice Commission's free legal clinic will he held next Saturday, April 13 at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library in Memphis from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Yesterday's TBA Today gave the wrong date for the event. Clinics are held every second Saturday of the month.

A news item in yesterday’s issue of TBA Today incorrectly used a masculine pronoun in referring to U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Marian F. Harrison in the Middle District of Tennessee. The TBA regrets the error.
