With more Tennessee attorneys – especially new lawyers – deciding to “hang out” their own shingle and begin a solo or small firm practice, the TBA has developed the Solo in a Box Toolkit. Each issue of E-DICT this year will spotlight one of the toolkit’s 12 sections. This month we look at continuing legal education for solos.

The CLE for Solos section of the Solo in a Box Toolkit highlights the most useful TBA continuing legal education courses for solo and small firm practioners. Programs – a number of which are mobile friendly – include:

  • Ethics courses on topics such as trust account management and operating in cyerspace.
  • General management courses on staffing, billing, goal setting and time management.
  • Technology support through courses on handy apps, new electronic gadgets, rules about using devices in court and securing your data.
  • Law practice courses focused on how to decline or terminate representation, maximize e-discovery and implement a paperless office.

Your TBA membership includes access to three hours of quality CLE at no additional cost! See the list of recommended course or search the TBA CLE Course Catalog by date, topic, location or format.
