With more Tennessee attorneys – especially new lawyers – deciding to “hang out” their own shingle and begin a solo or small firm practice, the TBA has developed the Solo in a Box Toolkit. Each issue of E-DICT this year has spotlighted one of the toolkit’s 12 sections. This month we wrap up with a final installment looking at commonly used forms.

In the Commonly Used Forms section, the Solo in a Box Toolkit includes a checklist for opening a law office that covers almost every aspect of launching a solo practice  and provides a handy wrap-up of each category covered in the toolkit. The forms section also offers sample guidelines for developing a file retention and destruction policy.

In addition, this section provides a variety of forms that can be used in the practice of law, including a sample engagement letter, non-engagement letter, fee agreement, contingent fee agreement and closing letter.

You may be launching a solo practice, but you do not have to go it alone! Check out the toolkit online or see past installment of Solo in a Box Spotlight features.
