Compensation for court-appointed lawyers will be a key focus for a new Indigent Representation Task Force appointed by the Tennessee Supreme Court. The task force, made up of judges, attorneys and others, will be led by retired Supreme Court Justice William C. Koch. It will also look at indigency determinations, the delivery of services, and the administration of the indigent representation fund. Chief Justice Sharon Lee announced the creation of the task force to the Tennessee Judicial Conference Wednesday. The TBA has been actively involved in the issue and will continue to work with the task force as it moves forward. You can follow this issue and others through TBAImpact.
