The Tennessee Bar Association today renewed its expression of support for funding of a new federal courthouse in downtown Nashville. In a letter from TBA President Jonathan Steen, directed to the White House, the TBA points to “significant operational, space and security deficiencies” in the current space in the Estes Kefauver Federal Building at 8th Avenue and Broadway. The TBA’s support for the proposal dates to 2002 when TBA members voted overwhelmingly to recommend that the courthouse be sited on a block bounded by 7th and 8th Avenues and Church and Commerce Streets in Nashville. Download other letters of support from Senators Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker, all members of the congressional delegation and the president of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.
