The Winter Wonderland Happy Hour and Pop-up CLE took place on January 25 at Central BBQ in Memphis.  The event was hosted by the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division and sponsored by Rainey Kizer Reviere & Bell, PLC.  Judge Julia Gibbons of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, Magistrate Judge Tu Pham of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, and Judge Valerie Smith of the Shelby County Circuit Court discussed legal writing and answered questions about their preferences and pet peeves.  The event provided a rare opportunity for young lawyers to discuss their writing with judges in an informal, causal setting.  Feedback was positive, and the TBA YLD hopes to continue hosting the event in the future.
