The next free advice clinic for Black-owned small businesses and nonprofits is set for noon to 1 p.m. CST on Feb. 19 in Nashville. The clinic, sponsored by the Arts & Business Council's Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts and Bradley, provides assistance with business formation and corporate governance, review of contracts, and guidance in navigating local ordinances and state regulations. Space is limited so early registration is recommended. Attorneys should email vlpa@abcnashville.org to volunteer.

The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville is hosting a free legal clinic for artists and creatives on Feb. 4 from 6-8 p.m. CST at Belmont University College of Law. The clinic offers one-on-one 30-minute consultations with volunteer attorneys for income-qualified creatives across Tennessee. Volunteer attorneys can expect questions on contracts & licensing, copyright, business formation and nonprofit governance. Email vlpa@abcnashville.org for more information or to volunteer. The TBA Pro Bono Portal provides a centralized source for lawyers and law students to find pro bono opportunities across Tennessee, like the following case through West Tennessee Legal Services (WTLS). WTLS is hosting a virtual estate clinic Jan. 20-23. Many law students will be calling clients to complete simple wills, powers of attorney and advance directives. The Nashville Arts & Business Council, in partnership with United Way of Greater Nashville and the Nashville Financial Empowerment Center, will host a pro bono tax clinic for artists, musicians and creatives on Jan. 14, 2026. The event will offer individuals the opportunity to meet with a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteer to learn how to file their taxes in the way that is most beneficial for them and/or to meet with a financial counselor for help repair credit and manage debt. Prospective clients should register by Jan. 9, 2026. The event will take place at the Nashville Financial Empowerment Center, 217 South 10th St., Nashville 37206.

The TBA Young Lawyers Division (YLD) and the Belmont College of Law are seeking attorney volunteers for a wills clinic at Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School in Nashville on Jan. 5, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. CST. Volunteers will help draft simple wills, durable powers of attorney and health care powers of attorney for teachers using the Gavel platform. The next legal clinic for veterans in Knoxville will take place Dec. 10 from 12-2 p.m. EST at the Knox County Public Defender's Community Law Office, 1101 Liberty St., Knoxville 37919. This is a general advice clinic sponsored by the Knoxville Bar Association, KBA Barristers, Legal Aid of East Tennessee, Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law, the University of Tennessee College of Law, the Knox County Public Defender’s Community Law Office and the local Veterans Affairs office. Attorneys and law students are needed for the in-person clinic. Attorneys also may help clients by phone. Sign up to volunteer here.
