The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberland (LAS) will hold a free legal clinic in Antioch Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST. The clinic will take place at the southeast branch of the Nashville Public Library, 5260 Hickory Hollow Pkwy, Ste. 202, Antioch 37013. The general civil clinic will assist clients with issues such as landlord/tenant disputes, family law, estate planning and debt collection. Those in need of assistance should register online. The Belmont College of Law’s Legal Aid Society will host its annual golf tournament fundraiser on March 25. The “Putt for Pro Bono Golf Tournament” raises funds for law students pursuing unpaid public interest internships, enabling future advocates to gain invaluable experience while making a difference in their communities. The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands (LAS) will hold three legal advice clinics this week. Tomorrow, the group will hold a clinic for veterans from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Operation Stand Down, 1125 12th Ave. S., Nashville 37203 and a general advice clinic at the Nashville Public Library's Downtown Branch, 615 Church St., Nashville 37219. On Thursday, a walk-in clinic will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Greenhouse Ministries, 309 S. Academy St., Murfreesboro 37130. All times central. The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville and its Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts (VLPA) program will hold a clinic on Feb. 5 for those needing legal advice on issues surrounding their creative practice. The free 30-minute in-person appointments are available to income-qualified artists, musicians, creatives and arts organizations in the state. The clinic will run from 6-8 p.m. CST at the Belmont College of Law, Randall and Sadie Baskin Center, 1901 15th Ave. S., Nashville 37212. Belmont Law is seeking volunteers for a power of attorney (POA) clinic at Casa Azafrán on Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. CST. Morning and afternoon shifts are available, and lunch will be provided. Volunteers will assist clients in filling out powers of attorney for care of a minor child alongside two Belmont law students and will be paired with a translator. Five or more volunteers are needed for both the morning and afternoon shifts. To help, email Ginny.Blake@belmont.edu. This clinic originally had been scheduled for Saturday but was postponed due to inclement weather.

The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands (LAS) will host a free legal clinic in Gallatin on Jan. 14 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. CST. The event offers free consultations with an attorney and is open to low-income individuals with civil legal issues. The clinic is walk-in only, and no pre-registration is required. The TBA Young Lawyers Division will hold an Essential Documents for Essential Workers (EDEW) clinic on March 3 for Sumner County police officers from 9 a.m. to noon CST at the Sumner County Sheriff's Office, located at 117 W. The Memphis Bar Association's (MBA) Second Saturday Legal Advice Clinic originally scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled due to inclement weather. The Memphis Bar Association (MBA) will host its Second Saturday Legal Advice Clinic this week on Jan. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CST at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library. Attorneys are always needed to give legal advice and basic guidance on a range of issues, from divorce to employment law.
